Natural Resources Board to Address Wisconsin OHV Park
June 7th, 2006 On June 28th, the Natural Resources Board (NRB) will receive a request from the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to approve plan development for a motorized recreation area here in the Badger State. For complete details on the Plan visit the DNR website at: http://dnr.wi.gov/org/nrboard/agenda/June06/3B3.pdf
WOHVA is on the agenda to testify at the June 28th meeting. WOHVA will present comments of support for the proposal at that time. If you would like to have your comments and support for a Wisconsin OHV Park presented to the NRB at this meeting please submit your comments to [email protected] or mail to: Wisconsin OHV Park, C/O WOHVA, P.O. Dear Natural Resources Board,
As an active Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) enthusiast, I would encourage the NRB to pursue the possibility of establishing a year-round, OHV recreational park here in the Badger State.
Regularly I am forced to travel to neighboring state’s which provide this form of recreational area. While there, I spend money that aids the economic well-being of that state. My family and I would much rather help the Wisconsin economy remain vibrant and strong by spending our vacation and travel income here at home. However, without a recreational area such as the one being proposed by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, my family and I will be forced to continue to support other states with our future vacation dollars.
The information which I have read shows that unlawful off-road activities (and the damage which results from these activities) dramatically decline in those states where a public OHV recreational parks exits.
I urge the NRB to join me and support both the DNR proposal and the specific plan being promoted in Forest County.
Thanks you for your time and your anticipated consideration of my opinion.
Sincerely,
