dunno about that... What I did was remove the wing from the door, clean the door and rubber with mineral spirits (low aggro degreaser), and then apply silicone dielectric grease to the rubber prior to reinstalling. The grease helped the rubber slip into place, and it forms a kind of adhesive quality when it dries up. That is what makes it seal well. Also the silicone helps to condition the rubber, which prevents cracking.
