Ok I bought a car hauler that used to be a boat trailer...
Thought it was a good deal but turns out it was booger welded together and really ghetto...

Mounted all the way forward it really squats the truck

Backed up a little to lighten the tongue and get off the overloads

This is where I sat before I tore it apart and started the complete overhaul.( how I'm tied down is just so it didnt move, now how ill haul it)

Anyway. I added about 2 ft to the back just so I wasn't so close to the edge, not so much to support the weight of my rig.

My friend said it should be 60/40 but I had more than enough tongue weight before, should I still move the axles back?

You need to use the same truck to get the right answer.Plus it would help to have the trailer and the truck in the pic's, with the jeep forward and rolled back on the trailer some.

The pewter single cab sits on the overloads with it all the way forward, with it back some it sits 2" higher. I did a rough measurement and got 17" from ground to hitch at full load, 19 with it back a little and 21 with just the trailer, I know that's not an accurate way to do it but it was a happy medium

You need bigger straps. And you should be strapping the axles, not the jeep.

All said and done with, this is what I ended up with
Still parked in about the same spot maybe a touch further back

How I secured the front

And I'm torn on how I should secure the rear I'll use the axle straps either way, but what's your opinion?
Chris cross like the front?

Or straight back?

The reason the ramps are under the tires is because I haven't found an easier way to keep them secured

outside the leafs. more triangulation- better

on the front I would do the bottom of the inner Cs as well.
