Why a 98?

All the V6 folks say how under powered it is compared to the 4.OL. However dino's show the V6 pulls more horses and more low end. I think the feeling of less power comes from the 4dr crowd. I thought it was way under powered until I looked at how much my 4dr JK weighs, 5500+ lbs. Almost as much as a fricken full size Suburban!

Well I haven't done any research on it yet, so 98 is just a guess for now. I have a 98 XJ, I'm hoping that I'll be better able to afford a older Wrangler.

I have a 4.0L so I know it. Same parts, etc... Having a different engine would make maintenance just that more difficult.

So when does the lift go on? Wheels, and tires?

I'm hoping to do the same thing, however I'm leaning towards a 1998(+/-) model Wrangler.

Yeah, I figure I'll be spending this coming year teaching her how to wheel the thing. Heck, I need to learn how to wheel the thing.

Lift and new wheels/tires won't be coming for a year or more. I've got too many plans for the XJ that I need to finish up first.

Sounds like a plan, although with the feedback I get from my wife about "her mustang" I'm not sure how well it will work out for you. lol
