Scored a 376 on the RTI.

Might be getting my hands on some sway bar discos, I might fab a set too (We'll see how that goes, I have an idea and kinda want to try it out.)

:rtm: Back on topic... Beadlocks are legal, I've seen 2~3 vehicles cruising around with them on. I'm pretty sure a good number of 5-O's out there would just think they were part of your wheel design anyway.

I heard that described, I believe the exact phrase was "makes more noise than a 20 dollar hooker at a frat party"
I haven't seen this method before, I think I'll try this.

Beadlocks are not specifically addressed in Title 42 Traffic laws in the Colorado Revised Statutes. However, because beadlocks are not DOT approved, they can be considered an alteration of the vehicle rendering it unsafe or defective.

Now, in order for you to receive a ticket for an unsafe or defective vehicle because of the beadlocks, the ticket writer would have to specify how the beadlock contributed. Meaning, how did the beadlock make the vehicle unsafe or defective - well, generally you'd have to be in an accident of some sort and the beadlock would have to be listed as the direct or indirect cause of the accident.

So, no - beadlocks aren't specifically illegal like forgetting to use your turn signal or speeding. But you can be given a ticket for them under the right circumstances.

The DOT approval thing gets "skirted" by the beadlock manufacturers - all they have to do is include in the description of the product "For off-road use only" or "Not for use on public roads or highways", or something along those lines. So, by the simple act of your buying the beadlocks and then using them on the street, the company skirts liability and you absorb all the liability.

Ya dig?

:paperwork: they weren't lying when they said you would give a thorough answer. I like it, very complete.

Oh, and I shoulda added that those 4 center caps you recently acquired won't work on beadlocks.

:D
