His very-well-built jeep was destroyed and parted out, totally devasting him and the 1000s of hours and dollars that he invested WITHOUT INSURANCE TO REPLACE IT.

I wont feel sorry when someone steals your pile either then.
I cant afford full coverage on my $2000 rig - and all the time and $$$ that goes into a modified rig means nothing to an insurance company - so even if he had insurance - it would only pay for another CJ body, frame, engine and stock drivetrain.

if someone didnt know that when you said pirate.com - you meant www.pirate4x4.com and wasnt a forum user over ther - then they probably:
a. not know how to find www.pirate4x4.com/forum from the mainpage of www.pirate4x4.com
b. not want to make another username and subscribe to another internet deal
c. wouldnt know where/how to find the thread
d. would be an un-informed voter
e. provided that they could find the board, make a name, find the thread, read it, understand what a fusion chassis is - they would probably make their own decision anyway...
