who has there 30 locked?

hehe trees.

I have a lunchbox locker in mine, on 33's, for a couple of years. I broke a shaft for the first time last weekend, the ears shore right off, ujoint lost in the mud I guess. I was gunning it with the wheel at full lock, stupid stupid stupid. Probably would have broke with stock wheels and no locker.

I run a lock rite in my d30 with 35s, Ive been wheeling once with the 35s and took it easy and no breakage. When I had 30s and 34s I did full throttle assualts and never broke a shaft. I blew a ujoint once but I think that had to do with running in FWD. I want to find a ARB or OX for kicks, and get a truss for it, inner c gussets and what not. also find out what the XXXX is wrong with my gearing shit.

Also my buddy has a CJ7 with a D30 and 35's and a V8 and a locker and he's never broken a shaft. I guess your mileage may vary.

33's with aussie in the front - never broke a shaft

35's with aussie in the front - broke 3 axle shafts (all short side), one time I broke one 5 minutes after replacing one. That was frusterating.

All the time's i've broken a shaft I was throttling hard. Either in a sand pit, mud, or up a hill. I think the culprit is the C-Clip coming out and the cap coming out. I'm going to tack weld my caps. I don't really care about being able to replace the ujoint. I have so many spares (thanks hollands all you can carry! :))

sounds like it's time for some full-circle c-clips

You might be right there ... wheeled Wharton Forest a few weeks ago, and maybe if I had hammered it, I wouldn't be planning on making a thread about re-doing the interior :(.

A friend of mine has a cammed 5.3L in his TJ and he had a D30 on 33's with a lock-right, stock 3.73's and stock shafts. Took him 2 years to spit out a u-joint and this dude is well known in our club for lots of skinny pedal. He just finished upgrading to D60/14b, so he shouldn't have problems anymore...

I just put an ARB in my D30 along with 32's and 4.56's/ruff stuff cover. I'll be testing it out for the first time this weekend. RCV shafts are standing by in case something breaks. Couldn't get them in ahead of time because they had to ship me two new design CV boots. I've never been shy with the throttle either.
