I know there is a the Who's Going thread http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1086766
But I wanted a more specific answer/opinion.

Is there anyone coming from SEC or NAC? I would like to go and this would be my first time out that way. It would be around 2,020 miles from me one way.

Question is, should I drive it and suck it up? ($1,200 in gass full trip)

Or have the Jeep shipped then fly? (Same price + plane ticket)

Wondering for those who have done it before what you would recommend.

Thanks,
Matt

I'm driving mine from Indiana, unless its not ready for whatever reason then i'm flying out.

Be advised we'll call you a cheerleader.

I might either way.

Don't care.....I'll be in flocking Moab! :D

That is a last resort. Jeep is running fine at the moment.

the drive isn't bad, just make sure your jeep is up to the task (obviously). when i drove XC i knew the jeep was good for 5-6 hour trips since i did those plenty of times. the 7-8 hour mark the jeep was getting pretty pissy for an hour or so then settled into a groove.

drive it, the experience is worth it. if you can take your time getting out there (or back), do it. lots of cool things to see along the way.

bottom line is, if you frequently do longer trips and the jeep is fine, it'll more than likely be fine driving 20 hours. i was doing 3-4 hour trips at least once a month before i went XC. wish i was able to go to this one, dont have the cash.

I'll hopefully be towing mine, but if not, I'll be driving it. I know it's up to the task, I just don't know if I am. :D

It's about 1700 miles one way for me so either way, it won't be a hop, skip, and a jump. I'm excited about it though so it really doesn't matter.

Aaron, your Jeep WILL be ready!! There should be plenty of people to see to that. MWC won't leave someone behind..........unless your part of the Top Gear crew, then they just say screw it and march on. :D

As if right now she's nearing completion. Need to redo my rear shock setup, stiffeners and agr steering box along with a tune up and radiator flush.
