Which springs are for me?

Hey guys I'm trying to do my lift right the first time. I'm planing a really mild jeep speed/dd/mudder/some trails not much rocks at all. It will mainly be my daily driver during the week and dune/mud toy on the weekends. Im from Michigan and about a hour a way from silver lake sand dunes. I plan on swapping a chevy ls motor in next winter (either 6.0 or 6.2) I'm looking for around a 4.5 long arm lift. I want something to handle the dunes good but not be really stiff on road.

Would it be worth it for me to get the deaver rear springs? If so what shackle is best with them?

Also does deaver make front springs? Or what springs do you recommend?

What shocks do you guys run/suggest for my application?

Sorry guys last question, what's the best for front suspension? Radius arm kit, 3 link, 4 link?

Sorry for the dumb questions guys but thanks in advance

Ok I just searched and I think I learned a lot. It sounds like there isn't really a substitue for the deaver leaf springs for the high speed racing. I'm just curious as to if it would be worth all that money for me if it's going to be driven as a dd during the week. Will the deaver springs ride a lot stiffer on the street?
Also I read for coils that Deaver, RE, Skyjacker would work. What do you suggest?

The big difference between the Devers(or any custom/semi-custom pack) and the off the shelf RE, skyjacker, etc. is the spring construction. A standard pack will have 4 or 5 leaves, each one a quarter inch thick or thicker. The Dever will have 8 or 9 leaves made of much thinner material(and a really nice double main leaf/military wrap on the spring eyes). They give a much more progressive rate then the standard spring. You can get a similar build from National Spring (for about the same price) They'll actually ride better on the street then a similar lift "standard" spring.

If you can afford them the progressive rate coil springs are worth the extra money(progressive rate springs are the ones where the coils get closer together as they get to one end of the spring)

i'm running deaver coils and leaves on my rig, its not a DD but will be driven a lot on the street as well as to and from trails. ask yourself: "do i want to spend a tick over one thousand dollars on springs?" then decide. lol.

If the springs pictured are the ones you get then yeah, they look more like a Deaver with 8 leaves and double mil wrap.

Basically the fewer, thicker leaves, the stiffer and less progressive the back.

A higher number of thin leaves will flex better, and as he said above, will have a progressive rate which means the further they flex, the stiffer they get, which is a good feature for the guys in this forum who hit the bumps fast.

you should be very happy with either kit. I lean a little towards the full traction kit only because i've seen it in action on more than one XJ and the components used are pure beef. I have not heard anything about either kit though.
