Which oil?

I agree that the need for ZDDP is somewhat paranoid in our cases. We don't have high lift cams with high pressure valve springs turning high rpms. It's more a case of "Should I watch ZDDP levels just in case it DOES make a difference?". Most of us have worn out valve springs turning under 3000 rpms most of the time.

1. Pick a name brand oil. Synthetic or dino is stricly a matter of personal preference. No need to reinvent the wheel here. Use the oil weights that are outlined in your owners manual. Different weights for different temp ranges are dictated that way for good engineering reasons.

2. Change your oil regularly.

3. See #2

Get your fluids checked, if you are that paranoid. Or for piece of mind or cuz you need to.
