which 8" kit?

whoa............chill out
I'm sorry you've had to much of my logic? I wasn't talking to you, but thanks for inputing your .02, and I'm not saying anyone stop what it is that their doing, and I'm not critizing your "opinion"
my question is simple isn't 8" of lift and 35's about the same height as 6.5/7 with 37's

i was just kidding;) but yeah it would be close to the same height.

well good thing you were kidding!!
I thought I was going to run into some bull$hit like you see over at pirate
it's all good though, I thought it would be running about the same, eitherway, my argument/question/comment is finished now, so now onto more lurking

well since no one has really answered your question yet just thrown in their opinion with what you should do, I will help you out, I have the 8" Skyjacker lift with 35's, I'll be the first to say 8" is to big with 35's, BUT, the tires still rub, I've had my lift for almost 4 years, it hasn't sagged, it flexes real well, BUT, the subframe on the axle is dumb as hell and the hiem joint control arms wore out after 3000 miles, I have since changed ONLY the joint to factory rubber bushing/johnny joint combo, that is the only change I have made to the entire lift, other than the control arm issue I have been very happy and would spend the money again any day of the week, I would also go with the 8" again knowing it's to tall for 35's because now that I've had 35's for almost 4 years I want 37's and since I went so big...I can, if you want any pictures or anything else PM me your phone # and we can talk about it,

PS I have no experience with the RK lift, but don't like rear coil springs so I'll be biased on that issue.

i just got the 9'' rustys, not installed yet i'll let you know how it rides when its done though. thats the height i want and i dont really care what they think. if i flip then i'll let them laugh.

take pictures when you do

trim and bumpstop = 35s on RE 4.5".

I'd go TNT long arms and Claytons rear 4 link 10x over before buying the RK kit.

well the thing is I live in PG BC so I gotta get through alot of mud to get to the trails and on the trails guess what alot more mud so I need to be riding high and I wanna run 35's/36" tsl's maybe bigger depending but I still want alot of flex to get over the logs and shit I will encounter I dont know if any of u live in northern BC but it not all dirt and rocks the only way to find the dirt and rocks is to go up a mountain and at the bottom of the mountain theres lots of mud. dont get the impression we dont have crazy wicked trails though I just wanna be the best on the trail.

get full width axles, do an 8-10" lift and run 39's...bumpstop accordingly and you're good to go

Care to explain.............??? I would be quite curious as to hear your reasoning.

Now as far as 35's on 8"s of lift compared to 37's on a 7" lift being the same height. Kinda sorta, close but theres more to it than being at the same height.

I've got good year MTR's which don't run a true 37 so your looking at about 36"s first. So really i would still be about 2 inches smaller than if you were running 8 inches with 35's. But this is the important part. My pumpkin is is higher off the ground than if you were at 8 inches and 35's. Thats the most important part. Running the biggest reasonable tire at the lowest amount of lift. Get all your axles off the ground but keep your COG low. Thats the important balance that you must find.

Thats why when you look at buggies, they are relatively close to the ground but run huge ass tires. Because they want their pumpkins off the ground but keep a low COG. Now they can do this b/c theres no sheetmetal in the way but thats just an example.

your right! I wasn't thinking along those lines, but now that you bring it up, I agree on your thinking process their

STICK WITH RUBICON OR FULL TRACTION. THERE KITS ARE VERY COMPLETE AND STURDY. ROCK KRAWLER? U GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. THEY SELL THAT 3 CONTROL ARM KIT FOR THE FRONT RIGHT? WTF?
GO LONG ARM.
CLAYTON IS COOL.
BUT RUBICON IS BETTER.
AND AS FOR THE REAR COIL SWAP. ONLY DO IT IF U R READY TO NOT PUT ANYTHING IN THE BACK. NO LOAD CAPACITY. AND BESIDES LEAF REARS ARE TOUGHER AND WAY EASIER TO FIX ON THE TRAIL.
