Where to get engine bay cleaned?

I am selling the 01 and the engine bay is pretty darn dirty, dirtier than I want to clean when its cold outside. Is there anywhere I can go to get it steam cleaned, does anyone do that anymore? Any help would be great, even a warm garage!

Just watch out for the tps. There is a commercial truck wash at the Longmont I25 exit. When I first got my rig, it had at least an inch of rust preventative (greasy oily grime) over the whole underside. I took it there and they took it completely down for $50.

Now, I just spray my engine and undercarriage with Castrol SuperClean and hit it with my hot water hose. You can do the same at the quarter wash.

If its in the 60's or above, it works pretty well. Sorry...............

Does anyone know if the stealerships do it themselves when they take trade-ins? I doubt it would be cheap but they do a damn good job cleaning.

I used a degreaser and power washer in the fall and it worked great. I imagine if your engine is warm, you could get it done during the winter.

Most dealerships around here farm out the detail work. My experience is that they don't take into account much for the cleaning. I keep my rigs shampoed and clean and it didn't seem to make much of a difference. They take a number from a book and go from there. Most of their used cars are immediately wholesaled anyway.

The numbers they put on the paper are funny money anyway. They have a profit they have to make. They can say they give you a great trade in but not drop the price, or vice versa.

Pester Goatman. He's a used car salesman.:shhh:

I know they have an engine steam cleaning service at the hobby shop on Peterson AFB. Its contracted to a local shop called 7th Wave Car wash. They might have some locations off base... maybe have one closer to you (maybe denver?).

ZEP has a kick ass cleaner. I sprayed the motor bay down with that stuff. Drove a few blocks to the car wash. Sprayed it one more time used the whole can let it sit there for 15 min while the guy in front of me finished up his riced out honda civic. Then when he pulled out he went at an angle and knocked off his passanger side low profile kit. After laughing for a few min because he drove off with it flapping down the road I pulled up sprayed the whole motor bay down and it looked like NEW. I got the stuff from the ZEP dealer. It was a little work plus he stops buy and gives me stuff to try out from time to time or he gives me one of those pens that only last 4 or 5 days. That stuff rocked. I've used auto zone brands and parts america stuff and they do OK but if it's thick stuff or crack with built up gunk they don't do near aswell as the ZEP stuff does. Now were to find it I have no clue other than ZEP themselfs really. They also have the best foam glass cleaner I've ever used in my life. You spray it on and you can hear it sizzel away the dirt it's great and when you clean the inside glass it doesn't go all over because it's foam.
