Where to buy O2 repair pigtail?

Local fabricators made me a custom exhaust system today (the best I have had on it yet) but when I got home I noticed that the downstream O2 sensor plug and socket had fallen down and melted onto the exhaust.


I need to locate a repair pigtail for my downstream O2. The new sensor I have just fitted is a Bosch 13138 with a roundish black 4-pin plug with two external polarising tabs. Any idea where I can find one?


I'm in the United Kingdom so I cannot get one from a junk yard as XJ's are getting rare here now. I tried rockauto but nothing seems to show up that matches the Bosch sensor I just fitted. Any ideas for a good source for Jeep specific repair pigtails?

Hm. Have you tried seeing if that sensor part number cross-references to any other vehicle models, and if those are available in the yards to scavenge from? (for example, the connector used on 84-96 XJ power mirrors and 84-01 XJ dome lights was also used on the sun sensor for an F250 around 2004 or 2005).

Alternately, since Bosch is still making that sensor, clearly the connector parts are still made. Perhaps an email or phone call to Bosch is in order, to see if you can find out the part number so you can order up the mating shell/pins from some place like Mouser or Newark Electronic Supply?

If all else fails, you can always just replace the connector on both ends with a 4-pin Weatherpack I suppose, but it will make future replacements annoying.
 
I am fairly certain that the connector that I need is a Mopar C128. Fortunately, there are a handful of them on eBay at the moment.


Hmm... Might not be a C128 after all as I have seen a variety of connectors on eBay all claiming to be C128.

I have to specially order the part.

The mating connector to plug into that o2 sensor is $39.99 and must be
soldered to the wires.

I can alternatively supply a Male-Female 24" harness that has mating
connectors on each end with the wires attached.

I have already ordered a used part off eBay so depending on how that turns out I am really pleased that there is a source for a new part if I need one. I hope this helps anyone else in the same situation.


I will be putting a thermal sleeve on that sensor wiring when I repair it.
 
Lesson learned. Everytime I replace a sensor I cut the connector and harness off.

Saudade, you've got an interesting idea there.
 
I too save the connectors for sensors, but that doesn't do any good when the damaged part is the plug on the vehicle side of the connection.
