When do you say "good enough"

I am not sure why I'm bringing this up, I guess it's just because I'm lazy. I'm doing my lower arms right now, and keep f'ing up to get them the exact same height. I've redone one side 3 times now, and for some reason I just can't get it any better each time around. I keep measuring off crap on my jeep, but it's gotta have to be tweaked somewhere.

I'm pretty much a perfectionist to a point, but sometimes I just want to bring myself to call it good, and it's so hard for me to do that.

What kind of tolerances do you guys use to say "F it, I'm done.", especially with suspension mounting. With the way we've all driven our jeeps, it's probabaly not so accurate to measure off any point of the frame.

so yeah...

Suspension wise, I have always done adjustable links... so i dont have to be dead on perfect. I dont have a ton of patience, but when it comes to getting it done, or getting it done right. I like to think i do it right no matter what. I just always remind myself that if it isnt right, there are other peoples lives at stake. I dont want to be THAT guy on the trail either.

Honestly, sometimes taking a break after being irritated is a GREAT thing.

Within 1/16th of an inch is good enough for me. Heck, I've seen as much as 1/4 inch variences in stock junk.

Are you talking about the control arms themselves or frame/axle bracketry?

frame brackets. Anything that you can freely move around to get a good position and measurement on such as axles and CA's. I see no reason they shouldn't be exatly what you wanted.

1/16" is definitely within tolerance for me at the frame. If I can end up getting that tomorrow with this bracket I will be very happy.

If you're smart, it's before you spend stupid amounts of time and money building a cage, new axles, 3 linking the front, 4 linking the rear, gutting the interior...

...and basically make your XJ useless for anything but twice a year (if lucky) trips.

But I'm not bitter.

Time to move out West? We get a lot more use out of our junk out here.
