Wheel Spacers?

My personal feelings on wheelspacers is the same one I have for lifting blocks. :thumbdn: Rember this is an entirely personal opinion. Many use them with no problem at all.

I dont run them right now,
But Im probly going to be putting a set in the back pretty soon,
and I havent heard anything bad about them, but
most people dont like them because they think its better to just buy new wheels, but I have aluminum rims and They're brand new, so I really dont want to buy new rims.

They are fine, but they require check-ups regularly. Mine use a thin walled socket for the bolts that hold the spacer to the hub. You will need to check them at least with every oil change. I checked them after first 500 miles, as I always do with new wheels. They were tight still. nEvery time I've checked them, they have been tight, no loose lugs.

Mine are the 1 1/2"ers.

well the reason i ask is i just was driving down the road and 10 lug nuts just kidda fell of and the were torgued down good but i came to find out that the lug nuts were shot not shure if that was from the spacer or just where

Had mine on for 2 years without issue and never have loosened up, ect nothing. BUT my spacers(Spidertrax 1.25") and wheels(Rubicon factory) are both hub-centric so Im sure that helps. Not sure if I'de run them with a non hub-centric wheel such as a steel rock crawler. Also if they combined have a back spacing less than 3.5" wouldnt even consider it.

Currious though, did the wheel and spacer loosen or just wheels?

I was always apprehensive about using wheel spacers but, I've been using them on the front of my '85 Toyota p/u now for over 2yrs now (1 1/2" spacers to match my 3" wider rear axle) with zero problems and I wheel my truck pretty hard as well as daily drive it. I've never had them loosen up. Since they're pretty much a permanent addition, I mounted them with Locktite red on the nuts....haven't had to ever retighten them.......Hans

I,ve got 1'' spacers on the front axle with no issues. They eliminated any rubbing that I had and made the front axle match the width of the rear axle. I do check them frequently though.
