Whats it worth?

My 1997 Jeep XJ Country's engine locked up. I am going to end up selling it but wanted to know what it is worth. It has power everything except seats and just has some minor paint chipping off. It is four wheel drive and an automatic.
Any help is appreciated.

A stock XJ a bad motor, maybe $500 if you can find someone willing to buy it. It's probably worth more to part it out if you have the time/patience.

I would say $500. Put in a $150 engine and it could be worth $2500. People like buying running cars, especially one that new.

Yep, people like buying crap that runs...unless it is cheap, which is where the $500 comes in.

Buy a junkyard engine for 1-300, jam it in there, sell for whatever you want or keep it.

Anyone with decent tools and a bit of mechanical ability can swap an engine, I pulled and reinstalled my entire drivetrain in a parking lot in the rain in less than a day's work.
