What was done to YOUR rig(XJ/MJ) today MECHANICALY????

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE!!!!!!!! SHE LIVES!!!!!!!!

As it turns out, it is actually very easy to install a transfercase linkage upsidedown.... Oops. Once that was fixed and readjusted i took ger around the block and she did great. Now i just need to put rhe exhaust back on

Flushing out the block and putting a new radiator in

Using the junkyard bezel and switch panel I picked up last weekend to mock up some additional switch mounting.

I think getting carlings all the way across would be pretty nice. Long term will probably go that way, but the wiring for moving the stock wiper/defrost to that seems tough.

Last Hidden Falls run I discovered I was leaking diff fluid. Luckily I had checked and filled 1.5 qrts needed :( before leaving.

Today was the first chance I had to pull cover and see the issue. I found it easily. All 5 hex bolts on the Rusty'a diff protector, that also hold cover on, were not even hand tight. I was able to remove with just the hex socket head. I have not worked on diff except to fill since getting it back from the kid I sold it to. He had it one year +. I hope it was not that low and leaking all the time he had it.

Cleaned and replaced... hope all is well now :) Sure helps with a lift.

I had to rub it in.... I've been waiting a LONG time for my lift :)

Ya but do you have a fan yet? A lift doesn't help at all when you pass out from heat stroke.

Got my transfer case put back together finally. Get to slap it in, measure, cut shaft for hack n tap, and assemble. Need to squeeze in the rear pinion seal and then I can drive it.

Jeep is back together. But tcase won't go into 2wd. Shifts fine into other selections but won't go into 2wd. Any position that is 4wd feels like 4lo. So yeah. All that work for nothing. So somebody find me a functional 23 spline 242 or I'll give up at some point and just do a 231.

Is the linkage right? I'm getting déjà vu. Like someone else recently had this issue and had the linkage upside down

Seems right to me. Messed with adjusting it yesterday.

Have a buddy coming by with his XJ with a 242 for me to compare.
