What was done to YOUR rig(XJ/MJ) today MECHANICALY????

How does their rental work... I thought you had to buy and then if in good shape return for refund? If not I will go rent one and buy my ball joints too. I guess it may not kill me to buy the tool and adapters... but Susan may kill me ;)

They charge you like $200 for the tool then refund it back when you return it.

That is correct, you basically buy the tool and then return it.

On my 88 we had to use a torch to cut out the bulk of the ball joint, then notched them with a reciprocating saw, and knocked them out with a hammer and cold chisel. Your white XJ shouldn't be that bad.

Harbor Freight has a set that I see get referred to from time to time. I don't know of the quality.

Fabbed up a new panel to cover the fuel filler hoses since i had to remove mine because of the cut and fold mod.

Also been working on installing a set of tnt frame stiffeners. Much more work than anticipated, three days in and still not on the jeep. Although i had to modify the crossmember mounts. Going with nuts welded on the inside of the stiffeners due to the original ones breaking loose.

That's snazzy.

I'd weld a few extra nuts in the framerail so that you can fab up a crossmember in the future.

Appreciate it

I thought about it since i can't go back once these are on but i'm on a time crunch already and they've given me such a problem already i just chose not to. I did wonder if they are thick enough to drill and tap the rails, being 3/16" plus the frame. I'm at least doing it to mount up a '97+ ebrake cable bracket.

My ebrake cable bracket is "tacked" on with some 1" long welds because when I was putting on my stiffeners I welded up the holes for it.

Pulled it out of the garage, changing the oil, heading to the beach tomorrow

Got me some air conditioning.

Turbines!

Went out to San Luis Pass yesterday. The normal road in was flooded. Jackasses parking all over the place near the entrance as a result. Still was able to get through and do some light wheeling.

Spent most of the time playing in the water with the dog though.
