What was done to YOUR rig(XJ/MJ) today MECHANICALY????

Awesome.

When I told the guy at the shop I took it to how much the shop I normally use charges, he couldn't believe it. Guess the shop he sends off driveshafts to is shafting him. lol

Will, that would be awesome, Blenny, it should be mostly the clutch and throwout bearing so I'm not expecting too much trouble. Hardest part (hopefully) will be getting the tranny out and putting it back without dropping it

Started putting mine back together.

Front end is done. Still got to install the new rear pinion yoke, change gear fluid, have the rear drive shaft rebuilt, and LCA skids welded on.

And I need to track down another NP242 after ROM.

Why not 231?

I like having the full-time option. When I start throwing in lockers I'll look into doing a 231 swap. Or atlas (I wish)

Got the rest of the tire carrier put on. That second pic is for you Will. I was at my sister's house and clearly she makes bad decisions.

LCA skids are on. Throwing paint on them later today.

Nice...i've had a set sitting in my garage forever now. They've really protected my garage from stumps and rock ledges.

Went to grease stuff on the Jeep and discovered that I lost a snap ring.

Oh damn....

Having never installed a SYE before (mine was installed when I purchased), what exactly is going on in that pic? What went wrong?

That washer is held in the flange adapter thing by a snap/retaining ring. The flange adapter thing is bolted to the output shaft with a bolt that goes through that washer and into the output shaft. Without the snap ring holding the washer into the flange adapter thing, the flange thing slides too far into the transfercase. Pretty cool. I'm trying to find a snap ring for the time being, but I think I'll try and have another washer welded in place in the flange adapter instead of relying on a snap ring. I'd rather not have to deal with this again.

That explains your fancy colored coolant?
