What was done to YOUR rig(XJ/MJ) today MECHANICALY????

My friend made it seem easy. He's been building diffs since he was a kid.

Since the Jeep has 4.56s now, the tcase spits more fluid it out while driving now. Gotta fix the leak. Think I need to take the hack n tap flange off of the rear output shaft and shave just a little bit of the end of the shaft off so the flange sits in the pinion seal a little better.

Think I'm going to try and find another 242 to rebuild and use a different hack n tap that uses a yoke instead of the flange like the one I have now.

He's going to try and take the Rover. Still need to put the heads back on it since he pulled them to do the head gaskets. If no Rover, then he'll probably ride with me again.

Looking forward to spending my first weekend back putting the mj back together and fixing the xfer case in the Tahoe. Hey will, I seem to recall you mentioning trannies a while back. Mine needs servicing, wanna give me a hand when I get back? Beers on me...

Finally got it bolted back together, after replacing the flexplate, torque converter, and rear main seal. Turns out the previous owner had tack welded the converter to the flexplate. I'm starting to get the feeling he wasn't all that bright.1125

What's up guys. Got my rear diff cover in over the weekend and today got rear locker. Still having some steering issues after last trip to Barnwell so Ill be working on those next.

Yàll get a date yet for ROM?

Hunting for an E-gremlin that has killed power to the fuel pump on the white Renix 4x4 I bought about 24 months ago, but have yet to put into service.

Pulled the 89 fuel rail to fix an injector leak, then lost a fuel line o'ring (o-bother said Pooh) so the leak has moved and is 50 times worse Hasta

and RA sucks at age 60

Also fighting Ford Taurus and Saturn gremlins, had to call the CDC and report a vehicle gremlin epidemic in drive way this weekend

Something happened, but I have a working gas gauge!

Ok I need stupid type help. I replaced my headlight glass and the bulbs with silverstar. The glass is labeled TOP. With that on top the bulb only inserts one orientation. There are 3 metal tabs and the single tab is at 12 o'clock and the other two at 4 and 8 respectively.

When I turn on lights I swear they are upside down that is hit high and aims low and when in normal seems like highs are on.

Not sure if I am making sense but does anyone know if single tab is on top at 12 or on bottom at 6 ?

Thanks for the help!!!!

Started on the track bar double shear upgrade. Need to use Juan's vice to get the end off the trackbar. Looks like I'll need a drop pitman arm now too.

Took the rear driveshaft off so I can figure out the tcase leak and to get the shaft rebuilt.

Finally got the fuel rail leak on the 89 fixed, liked to killed my wrist fighting with the fuel line QC reassembly. What a pain :(

Replaced all the o'rings and one fuel injector (to be safe, could not tell for sure what was leaking, O'ring or FI or both)

89 runs as good as ever now. 87 Wagoner is running pretty good for now.

Think I got the new Saturn Radiator leak/lines tight and leak free, so looks like 2-3 vehicles back on the road.

I am thinking of trying to replace my 85 manual transmission clutch MC with a power assisted MC for the clutch, as my legs can no longer handle taffic and frequent clutch work. My clutch system is too tight, all new and works great, but too hard to push now with my RA.... Hasta

Did Jeep have a power or power assisted MC for ther clutch? Anyone ever tried to upgrade it? Any ideas???? It is my 85 diesel Frankenjeep.

Anyone ever had a rear main seal leak about a coffee cup of oil per minute rate, like a faucet, after a long freeway drive, and then be leak free for weeks, alternating back and forth over 4-5 months?

I am fighting this on a front wheel drive 96 Ford Taurus.

I do not believe the RMS is bad. I am suspecting an intermittent

1) crankcase pressure build up (PCV valve and hoses just replaced) and

2) or exhaust leak blowing on the block that comes and goes, super heating and thinning the oil, perhaps due a failing engine mount and leaky manifold to pipe donut connection? It is not gas in the oil.

All 4 cat converters are less than 3 months old and replacing them solved a miss fire OBD MIL and the engine runs like new now with new Cats. Tail pipe exhaust is good, no blockage...

As I recall, when I did this, it was single on top. This is the low beam. Make sure you have it wired up correctly.
