destroyed my tow bar when the bungee cord fell off and I lifted the front end of the truck up off the ground - bending the pins and ripping bolts out of brackets.
Started the '89. the years sitting have not been kind. The alternator is failing and I think the fuel pump might be going out. If it weren't for the sentimental attachment I would be parting it out right now.

So I just got new warranted ruff country leaves and front shocks. I wrapped my 1st set of springs back in April 2013, replaced them and did 3 days if wheeling in hidden falls, 1 day in Moab, 1 day in barnwell (including one wheelie) so 5 wheeling trips and about 1500 road miles in 1 year. Here is what they look like.
So bushing shot, and they just fell out when the springs removed.
I know I'm hard on stuff, maybe not as hard as Panama red, but this seems ridiculous. So my dilemma do I install another set if rough country leaves and hope the last, or try to pawn he new ones off and put it toward some better springs. Also this is the 3rd set of front shocks from them... mayve time for something different.

No excuses for the bushings. That's not acceptable. But the springs themselves......
I've been having the same dilemma with the fabled OME springs. You and I have both spit out driveshafts as well. All signs point toward NEEDING a traction bar.
At this point, I've got 2 complete sets of OME springs, a set of OME helpers, and my old set of bastardized rustys springs. I'm going to do what I can sometime over tr summer to make some ultimate leaf pack.

So first tank of gas after fixing the wheel bearing and the brakes...... 16 combined mpg. Much better than the 13 I was getting. And that wasn't being gentle

Pulling apart the front end, was driving with my daughter and at 40 mph had the worst case of death wobble ever (thinking of changing the name to MURDER wobble as I almost went into on coming traffic.
Looks like a fun time changing out parts, at least it's warm and the beer is cold.

so about a year ago I put 6 degree shims for the rear, but after changing shackles and a few other things it seem like I need something closer to 3 degree shims. after looking at the shims I found that they are the same price as new spring perches. And with all my axle wrap problems I got a pair a roughstuff perches. WIll, I know it won't fix the problem but it may make it better.
