What was done to YOUR rig(XJ/MJ) today MECHANICALY????

Front passenger window wont roll down from driver or passenger switch

Unfortunately things can always get worse :(

So I cut the blue wire.

Or wait, was it the Red wire?:looney:

No , it was the renix ground wires at the engine block (black).

Running a direct path to the battery post, all ECU, sensor, all but the starter motor ground on the 89.

Lower Rad hose on the 87 is next, and about a gazzilion other things, oh and we have bubbles in the overflow bottle from the last running rig, the diesel. hasta

Time for bicycle but it has 2 flats.hasta

Changed the radiator cap on the diesel, refilled the diesel radiator  , tightened the belt and drove it.

Cut the ground cord at the engine block and ran new sensor, ECU, fuel pump, etc grounds directly to the battery post clamp. Left the starter ground at the block. The 89 is alive and well again!!!! Goodby Renix ground problems!!!

Put air in spare tire, greased some door hinges .......... got two jeeps back in service, I think.

More bubbles in the diesel overflow bottle today :(
It runs fine.

Adding insult to injury, the rear view mirror decided to take a vacation and came unglued, hastaAGAIN.

I HATE THAT!!!!

I picked up equipment and ingredients for doing homebrew today. I'm cooking up my first batch of IPA tomorrow.

well this cant be the start of something good, my clutch pedal has a dead zone now. like half the pedal throw is just spring then it hits some pressure. no leaks, full of fluid, I'm stumped.

maybe, but all i know is i might want to really step up my pace on my impreza in case i need something the drive. or if push comes to shove i might have to convert my MJ to auto and run my AW4 no one wants.

Sounds like a lot of work. Got the aw4 wiring harness, shifter, etc?

Yeah it would be too much work I only have a renix era aw4 and torque converter. But now my clutch is out, pedal goes straight to the floor.

A clutch would be cheaper than getting that trans to work

Sounds Like whatHappened When My Clutch Pedal Cracked

I agree, and it is an easy fix, either the metal cracked on the clutch peddle assy (like mine and others have done), or the slave or MC has gone bad, or all of the above, they are all dirt cheap fixes. Slave cylinders were about $6-$8 at rockauto recently. Also check the firewall mount on the MC for cracks and movement.

Well moving the entire Renix 89 sensor and ECU and fuel pump grounds from the oil dip stick block to the battery post clamp is working great. No more problems for a week now.

The 85 diesel does not seem to be a head gasket leak after all, radiator just does not want to refill when cooling down from the overflow bottle. No coolant leaks....
