What was done to YOUR rig(XJ/MJ) today MECHANICALY????

replaced the headlight switch, still nothing..... anyone want a jeep?

What kinda jeep mechanic are you? A quitter?:bawl: Over a headlight gremlin?

LOL!!!

Suck up dude, and go whip that Gremlin's Ars!!!!:wave1:

Give it some love and some tender hugs. Works for my Jeep.

Saturday we finally got the steering gear box swapped out on the 87 beast. Got about half way done on the firewall repairs for the clutch MC mounting area, on the 85, the rest should go pretty fast. Swapped out an O2 sensor on the Ford beast, did some rust treatment spot primer work on both the 85 and 87 jeeps. Got a lot done, finally.

finally decoded the wiring diagram. only took three days of fighting with the wifey to get it through her head the head lights need a ground. i guess that was my fault to begin with, seeing as i rewired them by color....

Speaking of color wiring, I ran into PVC covered (low temp) green wire for the 480 Volt AC feed to class 1 div 1 explosion proof wiring on a solvent still HOT box in the field one day. Onside box temp was a good 350 F, and the PVC was smoked.

Gotta love these color blind electricians, LOL!!!!

Anything to save a dime!!!!

I just rediscovered how much better a V6 Ford runs with 6 HV spark plug wires attached instead of just 5, LOL! No wonder it was throwing OBD-II codes

Sometimes you just gotta check other peoples work!!!! "Trust me" LOL, Ya right!!!!! Trust but verify, my new #1 rule!!!!

Replaced my fog light switch this morning, and now they work.

Threw some Baylor plate frames on too. Not that that really counts.

Waiting on my IRO track bar to show up on Thurs.

I also got a text from the guy I bought my tires/wheels from.

He's selling some RE 3.5" springs, LCA's, and 4 skyjacker 7000 shocks for $250... worth it?

Not too bad. Add a leaf for the rear? Or full set of springs?

87 Wagoneer XJ back in DD service. It seems to approve of the new Saginaw steering gear box (rebuilt).

Solved the P0171 lean code, bank 1, and rough idle on the 96 Ford. Seems the Bank, spark plug #3 wire was dangling loose, happy as a free bird :banghead:

Seems some one missed the spark plug when I asked them to install the last plug wire the day we installed new spark plugs.:o And then I missed the real problem for seemed like for ......... ever.

Puuuuurs like a kitten now, over 225,000 miles and counting. So far the OBD code is gone.

No rears.

RE 3.5" full packs are a bit less than 100 bucks a piece at Serious Off Road... so figure a complete 3.5" kit for less than 500 bucks?

Put the IRO track bar and bracket on today. Impact gun made short work of the bracket. I need to go buy a bigger crescent wrench to tighten down the jam nut, and I'd really like to find a better way to tighten the axle end (bigger bolt uses a new nut without the flag, hard to get it to not spin)

Driving much better with the new trackbar. Getting it aligned now.
