thats were i had to stop for the night, due to a lack of radiator and light

today we got off early... so i had a chance to tighten the wheel bearing on the DD and find out why my rigs rt frt tire keeps going flat over night... It has not 1 but 6 spots on the bead to rim area that is leaking....lol Most likely bring that in and have it fixed this weekend

bought a radiator, so my total price is just a little under $800 so far.

$600 for the jeep
$100 to Eric for the parts jeep
$28 for a fan belt
$26 for a lower radiator hose
$105 for a radiator
-$50 for selling the tire carrier
-$35 for scrapping off some of the parts jeep
total price is
$744 before 4x4 rebuild

Replaced the alternator on the 87, TWICE, :firedevil, in the same day, thanks AHs, oops I mean AZ.

Note to self: Have brand new lifetime warranty $$$$ parts like alternators bench tested before installing them.

Daughter fender-bended the 89 XJ, front corner drivers side yesterday, bent the front end arms on the axle (look like pretzels now).....:rattle:, not sure if the carnage ended there or not. (2WD), pretty much damaged every corner part on the front corner.

85 needs a new throttle cable, and new firewall (Local rust from prior fluid leaks), or custom firewall brackets to hold the clutch MC in one place. Two jeeps now parked next to the Ford, which is getting front end damage repairs itself. Just what I needed, two more repair projects.

2001, Saturn is about go under the scalpel to fix the KMA light, so it can pass gestapo inspection this month. Need to pull the exhaust manifold and clean out the carbon from the itty bitty air injection port holes. So I guess my daughter will be walking 45 miles to work this week.

I have two grown kids in their 20s I will swap for one good horse! LOL! JK

installed the radiator, and with much rejoice i can proclaim that it fits! and tomorrow once i get everything installed and filled up on fluids, i'll see if it starts and works flawlessly.

Working on replacing my steering box. There's a pinhole leak in the pressure line so I"ll get it too. Broke the return side fitting on the back of the reservoir so I'll need to replace it as well. Pitman arm is currently being a weiner and refusing to be removed.

Jesh, that makes 2 junk NEW alternators in one week from the zone.

Guess I know where to NOT get an alternator from.

Guess I know where to NOT get an alternator from.

I got 6 years and about 50,000 miles from the first one I bought in 2006, and with lifetime warranty on the 2006, this one was free. My mistake was not having them bench test the new second one this time!!! The third one I got bench tested before I left the store, and it is working fine. The first one had a squeal and peaked at about 50 amps before the voltage dropped, I am guessing it might have been damaged in transit? Or was not 100% QA/QC tested before shipped.

Looks like my daughter turned the front driver's side control arms into pretzels Saturday. The tire is 3" closer to the drivers door now. :(

It is a stock 89, 2WD, blue. If any one has any good OEM parts in their junk piles from lift projects I could use some. I will try and get a better look this week end as to how bad the carnage really is. I see a little bent metal damage on the axle matting part to where the control arms attach too, but maybe not enough to panic over (?), don't know yet. I also might be in the market for some front driver's side sheet metal, fender, front nose and corner parts.....If there any being scrapped any time soon.

Looks like those control arms are designed to take most of the damage and keep it away from the body-frame :)

Near as I can tell once the corner head light and sheet metal was hit the tire took the rest of the hit, and transferred the impact to control arms?

Next question I guess is did the axle get damaged at all?

I'll post some photos this week end.

Oh, and BTW, I checked Craigs list this weekend for 84-96 XJ ads the last 4 weeks, and there none at any price! :(

well the original AZ alternator is probably still on my old 00' XJ. i just cashed out my lifetime warranty with an extra XJ alternator i had. and shortly afterwards when i got the jeep all together i found out the alternator on the jeep was jacked. i guess that is karma telling me not to cheat at my old job....

but anyways i got my jeep running and moving, still need to burp the cooling system and spend a couple hundred at the JY on front end parts.
