Will probably be driving to south dallas today to look at another possible tow rig....

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today?

They were cheaper than most other places for a set of yukons shipped to my door plus I could go to the actual store and pay using paypal. Their shop is awesome plus the guys there will answer any question you have without wasting a minute of your time.

Yeah i guess you'll have to explain it cause i aint feelin' ya!!! I started with 2 48" pieces of tube. beveled the ends. ran a root pass then a filler pass. then knocked the top off. but i would like to understand what your sayin'.

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today?

changed the oil (needed it desperately!)

tightened up the parking brake cable to where it actually works now

did a front end brake job and replaced the right front caliper. when i started pushing the piston back it was leaking like a sieve. luckily it's only an $18 part!

tonight, if i have time, i'm going to build some kind of fishing rod holder on my roof rack. Any suggestions? I'm thinking of 10"PVC pipe down at the back of the rack, and one of the boat-mounted rod holders in the front. the ones that are metal frame, dense foam construction, and have 6-8 indentations for rods.

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today?

yesterday decided to rig up a switch for the auxiliary fan, since it kept on blowing fuses. Figured it was a wiring short somewhere that i REALLY didn't want to trace back. wired it up, and NOTHING. checked the wiring 3 times, NOTHING. pulled out the multimeter and everything looked good. Then i tried to turn the fan manually just because it would give me something to do while i was thinking. Fan is seized completely. Looks like I'm buying a replacement this weekend!

I have my old one. Its got a few pieces missing from the shroud from when my pulley and shaft from the water pump went flying and one of the corners that screws onto the support/mount thing up top is broken too. But it works. You can have it. I picked up a later model one from the PickNPull.
