...hell no. Did you see where they put it in at? What's the name of the dealer? Is it like a production dealer or private used car dealer? I'll do my homework and find out what they did. It's easy. It could void your warranty though if removed. If you have any. But I think having a gps tracker removed outweighs the need for warranty.

I think they put it under the dash because when I got back in it, my steering wheel was pushed all the way up. They said the bank they use to finance through requires the gps. and that all dealerships do it now. I do have a 2 yr warranty.

Ok... if you guys try and remove it, it will do SERIOUS damage to the XJ.... I really wish you would listen to me on this. Like I have stated, I have seen these things. You remove it and you will never be able to start it again.
Leave it alone and make your payments on time.

it's just a gps computer system wired to the throttle control and ignition to prevent it from starting if they chose to. It's easy to remove, i've ripped out LoJack before and other "ignition controls" from vehicles before and they work just fine. Next time I buy a new car, if they wanna bug me, they can suck my *ick.

Ok and if you ruin his XJ, are you going to pay for it? And if it's in the "contract" that he has it on there and you remove it, then he gets it repo-ed... are you going to buy him a new one?
Too many things can go wrong. And there ARE systems out there that if you remove them, it WILL ruin the vehicle. Just because you have removed a lo-jack and other systems doesn't mean that there isn't a new system out there that is tamper proof.
