I've been going threw search results for 2 days and can't find a clear answer to this.

If I use a front XJ front driveshaft in place of my rear driveshaft, what transfer case yoke do I need? I have a NP231 TC.

All the SYEs that I've found for the 231 use that flat round mounting plate and will not mate to the front XJ driveshaft. I need to do this as inexpensively as possible and would like to use a front XJ driveshaft in place of the stock rear driveshaft without having to modify the front driveshaft.

thanks.

there is a spicer part that adapts the flanged tc output to the yoke of the ds

if you have the 231 then some sye's have a yoke output.

He didn't post the picture above, these are 2 seperate methods of doing the same thing.

I know that.

Let me start over...if I use a front XJ front driveshaft in place of my rear driveshaft, what transfer case yoke do I need? I have a NP231 TC.

Or, who sells a SYE kit that uses a saddle type yoke as pictured in his writeup?

All the SYEs that I've found for the 231 use that flat round mounting plate yoke and will not mate to the front XJ driveshaft without modifying the XJ driveshaft. FWIW, will a 80's GM fullsize 4x4 front driveshaft bolt up to that flat round type yoke like pictured here:

thank you.
