came out of either 78or79 F250 is it 30 or 31??? Thanks

30 spline full floater. Never heard of a 31 spline. Nearly all D60's are full floater with 30 splines. A few semi-floaters with 35 splines are out there, and they're all c-clip, which isn't much of a big deal on a 35 spline shaft, but they still aren't real popular. The cool semi-floaters with 35 splines are custom built.

Whoa there big boy! I just go a D60 that was a Ford axle and it was these huge 19 or was it 16 spline's on it. All is just not a good term or specify that you are refering to those years posted. And yes it ws from a 69 F250. :flame: away!

If I read my post correctly it says "nearly all" are 30 spline. I decided not to mention the "old" 16 spliners, because I didn't know which years they stopped and went to 30 spline. Sorry..... :)

Yeah, it's a bitch when you say something that Beezil has to agree with. :D

so is it 30 or what?

Yes, absolutely. A D60 out of a '79 F series is a 30 spline.

Goat, what would you say if I told you I had a 35 spline semi-float NON-c-clip D60 with non-tapered 1.5" shafts sitting in my garage? Well, I do ;) :D

Edit: I forgot to mention that it is an OEM axle.....came out from under a J4000 and is technically a Dana 60-2. The Diff is offset towards I believe the passenger's side by 6" and the axle is 67" wide. That means that when you center the diff, you get a 61" wide axle , perfect for XJs :D

I'd say that you have a helluva find. :)

Everything I've read about D60's has never mentioned that there is an application with a non c-clip semi-floating axle. Learn something new every day..... :)
