What music are you listening to?

Listening to the new Micheal Jackson album that comes out later this month. Xscape.
Finally found a nice clean 1970s Marantz for my set up. Completes this rig. Adds warmth my pioneer elite lacks for these speakers. Gotta love the high end 70s look from Sun Valley California. Blue lights :)

Charro does a kick-ass rendition too!

The only thing that would make your set up better is an old school rack built with cement blocks and particle board. :peace:

I used to have that same pioneer tuner! I swear it had better clarity than anything I've had since.

I tend to listen to this guy however...

That's definitely a Marantz tuner, and I definitely owned one in the mid 80's... I have a discrete HK in a box somewhere that will re-emerge soon...

HK has some nice stuff! I hear those pair up well with Klipsch KG4's and Heresy speakers. I miss my KG's, love that bright sound from horns/

Last night and so far today I'm sipping on NyQuil and listening to Louis Prima and Keely Smith while falling in and out of a state of comatose.

The picture of the black reciever on the first page is a pioneer reference from the late eighties.
The second page's picture is of the Marantz. Silver panel and wood cabinet was the style from the 60s/70s

What I mean't was my 70's pioneer looked exactly like your Marantz. I wish I had some pictures to compare. Billet alum knobs/face, even down to the wood cabinet and blue back light.

Edit: Found this on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/310947942304?lpid=82

They look similar, but not the same obviously. Must have been a 70's style thing. :)

cool link, Tom.... it is Rodrigo y Gabriela- "Hanuman", some bad ass flamenco, for those who haven't clickyed...

They are going to be at Red Rocks next month. I already have my tickets.

Now, if we could only get the I.N.S. to show up to that concert with a fleet of buses........

Sorry. Did I let my American out just then? My bad. :gag:

Lately I'm finding myself back in the hard rock groove again. Particularly the bands with female singers. REALLY digging on Halestorm and The Pretty Reckless. Amazing vocalists....... and really not bad to look at....

I'm a fan of Volbeat. Occasionally fire up some Mushroomhead too. When I'm feeling particularly angry....

When I'm more relaxed..... The Kings of Leon have grabbed my ear lately.

Surprisingly, most of their fans are not Mexicans/Hispanics. While they are from Mexico City, they live in Dublin Ireland and tour all over Europe.

downloaded 11:11 this afternoon from Amazon, listening to it now. Toe tapping groovy!

If you get their other album, their covers of Stairway to Heaven and Orion blow the originals away.

Caution, listening to them while driving is a sure speeding ticket.
