Hi guys!
finally I've just bought my "new" Xj!
It's a 97 green limited 4.0l, with 70k miles, grey leather interior..very nice!

Now I'm looking on parts to buy for it, I'll use it 90% of the time on normal street but I want suit some 33x12.5x15 with 15x10 3.75 backspace wheels, what lift kit will be comfortable in street (I'll put bushawakers fender).
3" or 4.5"
Lot of people here in italy suggest me the RE 4.5 but is also more expensive than a RC..Will a 3" be enough for fit tires and wheels?

thanks all
massimo

it all comes down to how much money you want to spend. there is a reason the RE kit is more than the RC kit. at 4.5" of lift you might want to think about control arm drop bracket or possibly long arms.

i would do a 15x8 with 3.75 BS, not 15x10 rims.

regearing your axles to run 33's should also be a concideration.

It would take some cutting to get the 33's to fit and a whole lot of it with bumpstops for offroading those 33's on a 3 inch. I would def look at 4.5 with DBs or a possible LA kit but for a 90% street jeep I would go DBs. Just my opinion

Thanks all, what is DBs? sorry but I'm really a noob of jeep world..I'll cut the fender no problem, but as you told me maybe a 4,5 will be a better choice.
I've seen some xj with 12.50 and 10" wheels and I really love how they look, why you think a 10" could be worse?
How's the comfort on the RC?
I will love it to look like this

db are control arm Drop Brackets and they lower the control arm mounting points on the frame so that the control arms arnt at a steep angle(harsh ride).

my opinion is that a 10" rim is not needed for a 12.5" wide tire and looks better. if you like it wider than go wider.

The ride on a Rough Country Lift is better then it was a few years back as we have put alot of R&D into the jeeps in the past few years. Dont get me wrong we still got some kinks to work out IE adj trac bar and adj C/A but all and all its a good complete kit

i would go for the 15x8 wheel also, but its your choice. i recently went with 32s and the 15x8 because the smaller wheel width allows for better coverage and protection of the rim during offroading. also if you want to run lower tire pressure the smaller width reduces the chance of breaking the bead

for whichever lift you decide steer away from AAL (add a leaf) and get the full rear leaf packs. the AAL is just an addition into your existing leaf pack and will sag sooner than you think

I run the R C kits on my 89.. I went with the 6.5. I'm building one right now for the wife, she is getting a 4.5 R C when i get the cash for it.. It will also have the FULL LEAF packs, no add-a-leaf.. Save an read about lifts, then go for it..
PS
The shocks that come with the kit will be upgraded for the wifes
