what is your deciding factor when choosing tires?

When you decide on which tires to buy, what is usually your deciding factor?

Tread Design?
Tread Compound?
Sidewall thickness?
brand name?

Also, should I stuff 33's or go with 32" to allow for more travel?

Price, tread design, treadwear, load rating, brand. Details on your rig would determine recommended tire size. I suspect 32's would be the better bet.

I actually read writeups, keep experience in mind and then shop for price.
I've had GY GSA's, Pirelli scorpion AT's, Dunlop Radial Rover AT's and now BFG AT/KO's on my XJ during it's 300,000+ mile life. I loved the Pirelli's but they wore too fast and had cracking sidewalls but that might have been my fault with constant cleaning with welsleys bleach white and armour all. The BFG's are a good compromise and the price varies so shopping is indicated. All of our jeeps run them now. The wifes Oldsmobile, I just get the best Michlens' for it that they have, it's a street car so I don't have to factor in mud, dirt and rocks, makes the decision much easier and it's just a matter of waiting for the sunday sales in the paper... :D
