what is the best/cheap SYE & drive shaft?

I was reading through this fourm here and I am a little confused. Are you guys saying that there is an alternative to putting in a SYE and not having any problems? I keep hearing that there is a price difference between the two options, but what is the difference in it, Which is the best way to go?

I just finished putting in my RE SYE and CV driveshaft a couple days ago. I was a little leary about cutting my output shaft but it was a peice of cake. I left the TC seal unbroken and just took my time.

Tools used (for the Hack and Tap): Angle grinder and blade, lock-tite, cutting oil (for tapping thread),drill and a couple smaller bits than the one that comes w/ the kit, 8mm socket, 3/8" socket (I think), hammer and peice of wood for convincing the flange yoke to go on, and that's about it...I'm sure I left out something but that's the jist of it. the best deal i have found is from BigOffroad.com. i'm running 6.5" and 33's and John hooked me up with the heavy duty AA 231 SYE, and a custom Tom Woods shaft shipped for $550.

Tom woods himself sells this for 525.00 with premium shaft. That is on his site.

If I were you I would go with the full SYE. like you said its the same price. But alittle more work. I mean you have a brand new tail housing and everything. not like RE kit all you get is two 4" wide rings with holes in them and they charge you over 200
dollars. But there are people here that have not seen anything brake on these.

All im saying is you can get more for your money. Why not spend the extra hour and get a good quility SYE not a tap and tap one.
