What is a Jeep Laredo?

So the other day I saw a Wrangler driving on the freeway and it said LAREDO in bold letters on the side. Was I seeing things or was this really what they called the "Jeep Laredo"? I guess I never knew one existed and whenever I saw like little stickers or jacket patches I always figured they were just stupid and meant "Cherokee Laredo". I've got purple haze in my brain, can someone clear this up?:)
Much obliged,

edit: Ok I just googled it and found a couple. So it was a CJ-7 huh?

"Laredo" is a trim package, I'm pretty sure.

On the XJ, it referred to the addition of chrome trim - that's the difference on mine. Chrome-plated bumpers, door handles, and mirror housings - as well as windscreen surround moulding (on most of the rest, it will be body colour or black.)

I have no idea what the later Laredos have different - or the Laredo trim level on the ZJ/WJ - but that's the key differences on the XJ.

Yeah, I knew about the Cherokee Laredos but this thing seemed plain Jane just like a basic CJ. No bling on it, I guess if you call rust bling that was plentiful but no chrome and no fancy mouldings either. I guess I don't know why it matters I was just wondering why I saw "LAREDO" in huge letters on the side of a CJ/Wrangler, whatever.

Has anyone else seen the new wrangler "golden eagles"?

I saw this picture on another forum a few days ago.

Dodge revived the Charger name, Ford redid the Mustang to give it a classic look.

The Golden Eagle TJ is nice, but come on.....

Jeep should take a hint and reinvent the vehicle that created the SUV market, Cherokee.
