What do you think?

Rubber only.

Yes I know I want/need 35's. But am wondering about the cost. The other thing is new tires could maybe be gotten with a road hazard. By saving a couple hunderd, would be wiped out if I had to buy one new tire to match the others. How often does a tire get cut, and does road hazard really cover stuff like that?

MTR's suck.

Pro Comps or go home.

'Nuff said.

:laugh3:

But seriously, MTR's are a good, proven tire so ya can't go wrong with 'em. $150 a tire isn't bad. In order to get the trail-hazard protection like Discount Tire offers, you'll at least $150 more to get new tires, so I would get the used ones.

Thing is, those tires still ain't "cheap"....... just to put 'em on, ain't ya gonna hafta buy a lift, wheels, shocks, etc?.......

4 or 5 tires?

5 would be a pretty good deal, 4 would still be pretty decent. I paid $300 for 5 with about 70% tread.

I don't imagine you'd cut them in Kansas, though I've never wheeled there. I've cut one 35" MTR, and it was on some very sharp Nevada rock, never cut one on Fordyce or Rubicon.

Your not kidding, I'd have to get my 44hp and 9 inch under there and new rims. But I've been planning to go to 35's someday, it's just that these are available now. I'm going to need them. But I've got other things to do to get ready for them. If I buy them now, then the "other things" run out of money. If I do the "other things" then I don't have the money for the tires. But I know one of you guys will be selling yours at a latter date. Hell I could just come to Colorado and put on the bigger tires when ever I'm there. (just have to beat Bloose to Colofest):D

I'm thinking that I need to get the Jeep ready for the 35's first. That way I'm not tempted to do something half assed just to get the tires on.

That would be my choice. You got alot of work ahead to get to the point of needing bigger tires. Don't cut corners either, you'll regret it down the road/trail...
