What did you do to your XJ today

I hate cutting off those stupid stock lower arm brackets.....I seriously had to take a break and come back to them so I didn't go crazy, but I did get my Ruffstuff Uni-body Strengtheners tacked on. Now I have to finish welding. I did have one problem with them though. Ruffstuff didn't drill for the right holes to bolt my Cross-member up, no biggie though cause it was only the center hole that was off. They fit pretty good and I'm happy with them! Notice my new shiny exhaust....I am testing for heat related issues without and with the cat on.

Dropped the axle from the leaf springs to add another leaf from my stock pack in only to find none of them look like they'll work. And also noticed my leafs are starting to warp (the ends are bending).

Looks like I'll be in the market for a set of leaf springs soon here...

pulled the hitch off the 85 gona install it on the 89 so i can drive on the freeway at freeway speeds with my bike in tow lol

P.S. thank you napa for giving me the wrong pinion bearing....FAIL Now I'm at a stand still. Good thing I have my 4x4 meeting to go to tomorrow while I wait for it.

Do you have the tool to adjust/torque the side bearings? If so, I'd like to borrow it, if not, does someone else have one that we both can borrow?

I see you have the ring gear installed on the ARB, did you have to grind down a gear tooth to get the cross pin in/out?

Awesome choice! Make sure you use a good rust protective primer and paint on those bad boys. Both of mine are already covered in surface rust even with black rustolium on them.

No tools yet, I have a friend whose step dad has them and he's letting me borrow them tomorrow. As for the cross pin I am going to be grinding the ring gear as soon as I get the rear end set up and ready for final install that way I can do a final clean on it before sticking it in.

Oh yeah, Ordered my JCR Stage 3 Sliders today, I hope there here before the 30th!

Installed a new RE Trac-bar bushing today. OMG ! what a difference. The clunk in my steering is gone, the popping and creeking noises... gone. The slop in the steering isn't gone, but its 10 Xs better. Hell, i even think it made the engine run smoother, lol.

It had some play in it but i didnt think it was all that bad. all i can say is WOW ! what an improvement. Wonder what it will be like when i get the control arm bushings replaced...

Some auto parts stores carry them ,try CRAP there in Lacey or go to a spring place ,I had mine made in auburn.

Cut the drivers side door. All deburred and ready for some welding. Going to look for material to close them up hopefully be done next week sometime. Pics soon

dang i had 2 spare sets of ubolts i was DYING to get rid of at NWF.. ..nobody wanted em.

I ended up sneaking a useless half a set into LOS LOBOS' rig.. ..haha
