Today I put the manual recline levers and hinge brackets into the ZJ seats in my XJ. Some weight savings after taking off the motors and wiring harness from the power seats. Now they recline again, yes!

Speaking of welds.... while trying to catch up with the rest of the Crew in the TSF this weekend, a couple key welds on my own jeep broke loose.


Ratchet strapped it up to keep it from fully tearing off, and limped home.


Then, to add insult to injury, got pulled over just a mile or so down from Rogers....

Looks to me like the frame sheet metal sandwich began to crack, which led to the bracket ripping off. The welds look to be intact. That's the problem with welding 1/4" steel to sheet metal. Ideally the surrounding area should be plated. TORX's hypothesis.

Yea the welds were fine... The TORX-analysis was correct, it just separated the sheet metal layers, actually pulled a couple spot welds thru.
It will get plated in this week.... process has already begun.

Went to browns camp on monday found out that Im in need of new hubs driver side is sticking. jeep did great for the most part couldnt ask for more considering it has some stuff that needs done.

also went up waterfall for the first time ever. doors off me and the wife had ablast getting up it. that section was the only section we took the little one out just to be safe.
