What are you doing to your rig - the continuing saga

Needs more of this.

Well my problem is the winch and d rings are rock magnet. Bad bad rock magnets. Both down and out. An approach angle shot of that would be interesting. Most if not all XJ winch bumpers are huge and hang way out there. Stupid idea I think. And yeah, I do hit that part of the bumper regularly. Did might be a better term.
As far as the hoops. I've been debating how and if I would gusset the mounts bumper side.
I wanted them because I actually bang on to the corners of the jeep a lot. Between the rock on the trail and deer out here by work it seemed like a reasonable idea.
In situations like this on Indy, the hoops would have saved my front end.

I do not disagree with any of that but a full bodied XJ on 33's is not worried about approach angle. They are just getting out and enjoying the mountain passes.

As far as your junk is concerned, dove it.

I have a dream.
I have a dream. That one day. A man can run large tires on his jeep, and not only not lift it sky high, but also keep it full bodied.

My XJ is sitting on 6.5 inches of spring lift ....it is for the moment full bodied ...keeping a rig full bodied and low only requires pushing the wheels out making the fender openings match and bump stop as needed...I'd say 44's qualify as big tired I would be running 47ltb if I thought a set of tons were up to them...when the boat sides get started I will take some out of the nose I like nothing but tire sticking out the less body the beefier the rig looks and less it will get stuck

Holy chilie pepper red angry eyebrows batman!
