What are you doing to your rig - the continuing saga

i love DW. fixed my MJ's case with all junkyard parts, used steel wheels and sawtoothed BFG mud tires. traded lower control arms with pro comp used ones, and all teh rest in my case was steering components and tires on the front. and a used RE track bar.
3rd jeep with DW i have fixed. 3 for 3.

Got the panhard mount and link knocked out, tested clearances. Think it'll do.

Also started the mock up and install of the boostwerks towers. These hints are sweet. Going to stretch my wheel well just the right amount I think

I got the hydraulic pumps back on the pump drive in my '79 Hydarmac... :eyes: couple more days work and it might work as poorly as it did when it first took a crap. :D

a misspelled "Hydramac"... a skid steer from the 70's. I'm giving myself on-the-job training in piecing the POS back together.

yeah, I still haven't figured out how to get the last hydro connections on while installed... impossible to reach, and the stubby wrench is so small i can't get enough torque on the fittings. Must have been assembled with the help of elves.

yeah, those would be nice, but its really that a stubby wrench is required, and its tough to get enough torque on a wrench that short... particularly when you're upside down hanging into the beast and trying to fanagle your hand in there to begin with. i will overcome!

might be necessary...

I won... odd how my "rig" is a friggin skid steer. Life is odd.
you can see the offending pumps that had to be removed - I had only pulled one hydraulic line when I took this pic (baggie on line):

pulled all three, and attached to the back of the pumpdrive, which is really just a very simple transfer case. Pumpdrive re-installed with pumps -- the booger welding on the jerry-rigged mount (non-stock engine adapted to stock pumpdrive) is not my doing by the way... ugly, but apparently works:

Engine in - lining up the shafts on an 80lb engine with the various shaft keys by myself was a serious pain in the ass... or back:

got the battery charged to learn that I screwed up the ignition wiring somewhere... finding time to figure that out and hopefully she will fire up.

angry eyebrows!

yeah, its not the 40's that make it look aggressive. :eyes:
