What are you doing to your rig - the continuing saga

1.) Good gawd looks like you're having wiring fun as well  Luckily for me I'm 90% done.

2.) You really need to come to COFest so I have someone else that will run Carnage :D

You got that right on the wiring. I feel like I now should have a PHD in Jeep wiring after scouring back and forth in the wiring diagrams to find what I needed to keep and what could go. I ended up building my own new fuse panel for the few things I had left and new items I added. Thank god the wiring is almost done! It's definitely a big sigh of relief when you flip the switch, hit the button and it starts up! (and nothing starts smoking). I should be done with that part this weekend.

I saw COFest is down in BV. I guess I'll have to see if I can get another hall pass for that event. Any reason to run Carnage is a good one for me. That's why I'm running the STF Offroad event.

I tried to look at your build threat and all of the pictures are dead links. Do you still have a thread up anywhere?

Yeah, my buddy that helped me (Sam aka zluster) and I joked that it would have just been easier to start from scratch at this point. But, I wasn't planning on going this far and originally had planned on keeping stuff needing OEM connectors, etc.

Unfortunately since I moved my photobucket photo's, it changed the IMG code.

I'll be working to go back through and try to get it all redone.

Only work lately has been the non-exciting stuff: wiring, fixing leaks, getting passenger floorboard heat shield put in, etc.

Hoping to start back on the body panels here ASAP and get those done and painted :D

Screwing around with some Chinese Spectra A/C condenser with quick disconnects that don't work. One fitting would not go on no matter what. I tried against the factory original and it connects and disconnects perfectly. Now trying to figure out how to get the other line off without cutting the liquid line so I can return this POS and not buy more parts.

Had a new windshield put in the WJ and snapped on a set of PIAA super silicone wiper blades. Always had these on my XJ and they were phenomenal in the rain.

Nobody in town seemed to have a replacement condenser. The liquid line needed to be bent just not to hit the charcoal canister bracket but it ends up hitting the manifold line off the compressor as it flexes. Guess its time to return all and buy accumulator/liquid line from the dealer. Was a quick job on my 01 when i did it last year. All the factory quick disconnects come apart and go back together just fine. With the dealer not making a lot of new parts, just using up old stock, and crap parts from wherever as the only alternatives... not a great day.

i keep buying parts ...just ordered solid knuckle kit with artec arms and knuckle bolt kit $1300 ...ouch...but that is the last stock parts on the 60 that need gone...super joint rebuild kit and Yukon hardcore locking hubs to replace the tired Warns ...some sqaure and round tube to make new rear arms for the planned 8-10 inch stretch over the 106-107 it's at now, and on the fence on using stock tank or RCI cell...have enough cash for a regular Atlas but decided to hold off for the extra cash to go 4 spd since i only have a 4.0 and need the gearing options ... The 42s will be the roller tires possibly get trail run or Two but they were a mistake so after everything is done she will get sone 44 TSL or 47 LTB ...will not be wheeling this Summer but next season penrose should be a speed bump .

Nice!

Who do you use for powdercoating? Are they pretty reasonable on pricing?

Good luck on the wisdom teeth! I've heard you'll have some great drugs for after

We use Front Range Powdercoating. I get in on the batch runs through RMW so the pricing is usually pretty reasonable. We tend to run 2-3 pallets a week which keeps the costs down.

The teeth extraction went well. Really missing solid food though

I just ground and filed circlip clearances for my D30 axles when I installed new 5-760x joints last weekend. Painted everytyhing from the Cs outward in slick, black epoxy paint to boot and installed shiny new gold zinc plated spindle nut kits from NAPA.

These will be spares when I finally get some real front axles.

Finally got the lift done. Battling 15 year old bolts was absolutely thrilling. RE 4.5" with 33x12.5 Mastercrafts. Not a fan of the "street locks" but my buddy gave them to me for beer so I can't complain. Just need to trim up the fenders and it's good to go for now.

Looks good, but there sure are a lot of white XJ's running around now.

Changing the transmission cooler lines & condenser.

New transmission cooler quick disconnect ends don't work.

New condenser won't hold vacuum.

Well I ordered my rear bumber and tire carrier from jcr along with rock sliders from them. just placed the order from IRO for the 5.5 inch long arm lift and a dana 30 lunch box locker for the front. now just waiting for tires and new carpet.
