What are you doing to your rig - the continuing saga

BOR = BIGoffroad

Was a business I had up until Dec '10. My blue '97 was the promotional rig.

Yeah that thing is purdy!

Mine is all electric so it was pretty easy. It definitely gets the meter spinning though when it kicks on. I'm going to get a gas one before next winter.

My friend has a woodburning stove in his garage and it works well enough but its a lot of work, and unless you have a source wood isn't exactly cheap either.

If you want to go that route I'd recommend a pellet stove as its basically smokeless and is fairly labor free minus filling the hopper. Either way though, they take up a fair amount of room and just don't work as well as an actual heater.

Radiant type heaters work very well and do a better job of heating the floor up. Thats what our shop uses and our concrete floors are never cold to lay on. Even with my heater going and the garage sitting at a nice comfy 65deg the floor will still be cold in my garage.

My garage is only a one car but I'm always picking up wood for my chimney. But with my addiction should be perfect. Where my box, work bench and stove will be. My buddies dad has a woodburning stove and its a 3 car but almost 2 deep and takes a while to heat it up. But he just starts a fire comes back in 20 mins and feeds it when he starts work and it starts cookin in there.

Very easy for me....I'm an HVAC guy by trade.

In ballpark figures, how much would a natural gas garage heater cost? One that is big enough to take the chill out of a large 3 car garage (maybe 1000 sq ft). Just the cost of the unit, not installation or the running of the gas line.

Also, what brand do you suggest?

oof. not the pump?
