What are you doing to your rig - the continuing saga

Don't let the wife find out you weren't hovering over him and watching him, but instead, playing on your toys.
 
Actually he was in the garage helping me. Handing me the nuts/bolts for the beadlock rings, bringing me tools, etc. Shhh, don't tell mommy.
 
Its weird how much taller the BOR rig looks than yours, but isn't hardly at all. perception is reality I guess
 
BOR Rig is just over 3" taller running the same height tire. Thats actually quite a differance.

I'd like to swap my 3.5" RE Leafpacks for some 4-4.5" ones though. It squats down and rubs way too much loaded up for camping. I just keep hesitating because its rides so damn nice.
 
Well he also has those big ugly bushwackerflares on it, those add a lot of mass to the jeep.

I just bought these tires brand new and have only moved the Jeep around my culdesac. You better be bringing some major scrilla if you want them. Besides, whats all this about you wanting fancy beadlocks and major rubber? Your wife finally letting you wheel that thing?
 
You mean I can't buy them with the currency of our government, hopes and dreams?

But honestly, how much does a set up like that set you back?
 
If you'd like to keep the rims and get smaller tires, I do have a well worn set of 305/75/16 Kevlar's to trade. :)

I got a buddy who hooked me up at the Discount Tire in Cheyenne, I paid 309$ a tire after tax. He could've hooked me up even better on some MTR's but I didn't want to wait, plus I'm still a BFG fan at heart.

I got the wheels of craigslist for 500$

TrailReady has them going for a mere 1500$ plus shipping.

Corrugated, FTW!!!

It insulates you from the ground, is easy to slide across, and cushions those stupid little rocks that grind into your back. Best yet, when you are done making a mess, roll it up and throw it away.
 
I've been using a 4x8 foot sheet of 1" thick heavy closed-cell foam rubber recently. Mostly because I work in my yard (no garage, no paved driveway, hell the street I park on isn't even paved) so it's nice to simply slide it under the jeep sideways and be able to lie on it from either side without losing my tools in the grass. It's like a redneck jeeper's yoga mat.

I miss using a creeper so much.
