What are you doing to your rig - the continuing saga

LMAO! Leave it to a guuuurel to want matching paint!

I don't remember any write up in particular. I got irritated with hearing the rods clatter at start-up. I bolted on the adapter from a '98 block, and the respective filter. I haven't had a problem with oil draining back since.

Mike, Replacing the fuel pressure regulator should fix that starting issue for you. Also check to make sure that the vacuum line going to the regulator is not cracked or split. That was the problem with my 87'. The regulator wasn't holding pressure and bleeding off while not in use.

Well just about finished up the sisters jeep for the time being. The current upgrade list has diminished. Just a few last things we are gonna do.

Her putting in a little work

aw, man -- that completely brings the suck. I had to do it when I bought mine, and removing the entire dash just plain sucks. If you're still going after 5 let me know, I'm happy to lend a hand (I owe you at least a couple hands...).

I made it halfway home and the windsheild fogged up and started gettin stinky. I will be taking it into work tomorrow to do it. I can get it done in about 2.5 hrs. Not my first and not my last wj heater core. Luckily I did one last week and its still fresh in my head.

I probably could have finished mine in 4ish, but being a shade tree guy, I had to try and take a couple of shortcuts, fail, try another shortcut, fail, and finally do it the right way...

I continue to have difficulty with that particular lesson... but I'm working on it.

WJ heater cores aren't too bad. 97+ XJ's though are butter. I'd do them all day every day.

That's why I thought I could take a short cut -- on the XJ, you can kindof pry the dash partway out without removing it and knock it out... not so much on the WJ. I hated that job.

The Renix adapters are easy, a 5/8 wrench gits-r-done.

I don't know when the later (T-60) style came into use, but I have special words for that operation.

Yeah, the T60 is a bit tough I guess. I was able to get mine without too much hassle. I assume you knocked a T60 tip out of the socket and now have a box wrench on it to try and loosen it?

Yup. knocked the bit out. Seems i get better leverage from the bottom with one wrench on the bit and another hooked to that wrench for leverage but they were just bending. Im pretty sure if i pushed to hard they would snap.
