What are you doing to your rig - the continuing saga

Really nice work on that carrier Chad! Now you need to find a better way to mount your plate....

And... if you build another one I'll buy it.

replaced my water pump and did a cooling system flush today. I decided that it was cold enuf lately taht I need a well working heater.
*shiver*

Gonna be installing my cb radio tomorrow but still trying to decide weather or not I want to mount it between my visors up top. Got the cool coax cable with the eye at the end.

Which radio/antenna/mount did you get? I'm gonna have to do that sometime before spring rolls around.

I was thinking about a Uniden PRO520XL, Firestik FS3, and the rear brake light mount from the fellow over at CF.

been adding some tube to the cage recently
should be starting the front bumper here in the next few weeks
new tires/beadlocks should be on by this time next week

I went with a Midland mini from the truck stop off 70 & Ward.antenna is firestik firefly and mounting it on my rear bumper with a quick disconnect.

I really have to recommended a spring for any antennas that would ever come into contact with a tree branch. After snapping my original antenna I bought a quick disconnect for it but ended up having to disconnect it all the time on the trail... I can reach it from the drivers seat but it's still tedious and annoying and then you're out of radio contact. If it were mounted on the rear I would most certainly expect it to be even more annoying, having to get out and such.

The spring is nice, and at highway speeds it even serves as a wind direction indicator if there is a gnarly crosswind or something

Where in the heck is that? Inside?

Shim the rear to stop these vibes. New pair of front shocks (old ones were far too short). JCR belly skid. Rear bump stop fix. All of that will be here by weeks end.

I have a set of D30/8.8 RuffStuff diff covers sitting here that I need to paint and install once I decide if I can afford a locker before spring.

Just had Frank put in 4.56s and ARBs. When it came time to change the oil, i put on Ruff Stuff covers front and rear.

Rear passenger drum decided to blow up. Spent 5 hours fixing it today. Could do it again in 1.

I need to order up replacement bushings for my JKS lower arms. Once those get in, I'll be replacing the control arms.

Looks like it's going to be an all winter project, but I am reworking my exo so it's a hybrid style cage (that will be removable too!). Taking cues from the one JCR built. Got the exterior roof halo cleaned up and new mounts for it done, the internal C pillar is done and now I am on to the B pillar.

While I'm doing that, I am also building my own set of fiberglass front fenders. I plan to do a build thread on those when they are done. So far I have the driver's side shape milled out, now just working on getting it smoothed out with Bondo so I can make the mold off it.

Can you post some teaser pics? I am interested in the design of the fenders.

new front driveshaft and rebuilt rear on, 35s on, ballistic fab front truss ordered along with some iron rock bushings.

Debating on upgrading my arb compressor to high output or getting some fiberglass front fenders.

Been getting Luke's transmission swap almost done just need to get front end back together then need to fund time to work on my own junk. Next on my list is getting track bar in order with new frame and axle mount then get tube a bushing and some sort of joint on the frame end and get it all welded up going to weld the mount to the body after front frame stiffeners! Then new heims for the steering but can't find the size I need on the Aurora website.
