What are you doing to your rig - the continuing saga

Stock location. It fits fine. I just made a small cut and then made it bigger tell I felt comfortable, could have gone bigger actually.
When you do it just use the bolt closest to the outside that bolts down the battery tray and use that as a guide.

In the second picture you can see the battery tray in it's stock position.

New rear gears arrived today. Got to replace the Yukon R&P, missing the extreme outside edge of 5-6 teeth on the ring gear. Nothing in the diff to cause the damage either. The only thing in the housing was the teeth, and they show no damage other than the fact that they aren't on the ring anymore.

i had some similar lights on my 90 golf (minus the fake projector aspect) and they are bitchin, but even with the brightest sylvania bulbs you couldnt ssee shit at night

You do realize that the headlight itself has no reflective purpose right? The only light source is the projector beam in the center. The square part of the light simply gives the projector a way to be mounted.

It's a look, a style....... that's all. I personally don't like the eye-ball appearance of those lights, but it's not my rig. :thumbup:

Wow, you bought those $20 "projectors" off ebay? Worst light pattern ever. Its not a sealed projector, it's just a floating lens attached by two metal tabs. I bought those when I started my HID project, took them out of the box, and put them right in the dumpster. There is only one company that makes actual projectors for the XJ and they cost a grand.

Going to regear Daniel's rig this week and hopefully have time to replace my broken Yukon ring and pinion in my rear axle as well.

Hmm, let's see...

FrankZ Steering this week, and possibly an order for some new shocks so I can utilize my full down-travel! lol

Also need to order a locker for the rear, diff covers, TC skid at least, and install bumpstop extensions before the season gets into full swing this Spring. My TC linkage is about shot so I may splurge for the Novak cable linkage to take care of that.
