What are you doing to your rig - the continuing saga

Xj grin what size lift and tires?

Joe94xj is that a set of jk wheels with what size tire?

in that pic, the fronts are 285/75 r16s, rears 235s :shhh: I have a pic of it sitting on 305/75r17's and my current JK wheels somewhere, but I'm back on 285/70r17 duratracs on my JK's now -- roughly 5 inches of lift...

zj....much cheaper

5.9 way more fun

pshah -- when I was shopping, I drove the 5.9 back to back one afternoon with the 4.7, I don't care what it says on paper, the 5.9 does not have the cojones its advertised to have...

The 4.7 has some get up and go for sure. Drove it to work today. Need some trimming but I am actually surprised with the ride for the short arms. I think the coils in the rear make a big difference. Thinking about tossing some wheels spacers on just depends on how much I need to trim.

pics or it didn't happen :D

looks sharp, man!

I have a spare ZJ bottle for you Joe, if you need it -- Jim gifted me two... I still haven't done mine, I just keep duct taping the portions of the hose my tire eats.

you got it -- When Jim hit the yards to do the bottle in his WJ, he picked up 3, and he left two with me when he headed to Cali... Its a bit trickier with a V8 from what I've read, probably need to do a cold air intake to make some space. BTW, and I know its late, but I have found a junkyard lift solution for WJ's, of all places on jeepforum -- 97-2002 Ford Expedition rear coils provide 6" lift on a WJ, or so I read! I may be hitting up you pull it next weekend.

That does look pretty randy.

did yours have a plenum gasket in it, or was it the factory timed-release plenum gasket setup with bonus ignition retarding?

That was the only thing I found. Heard they are better for rigs that actually tow anything. Crappy thing is 2 weeks before I read that I swapped out a set of those springs at work for a customer and tossed them. Also JK springs are supposed to work. You just have to cut the very end of coil off. Something like 3/4" to get them to seat right.
