Oh yeah, octane booster will result in fewer BTUs, ie, less heat available to make power, so fewer actual HP.....octane booster is only needed if your motor is pinging due to pre-det.....
krakhedd said:Turbo-II was essentially a Turbo-1 with more boost, or maybe Turbo-1 was the 2.2 and Turbo-II was the 2.5. Turbo-III was the Lotus version of the 2.2 motor, aluminum everything, DOHC, something like 224HP @ the fly, but needed to be rebuilt every 10-20k (as I recall - I used to drool over those 2.2s & 2.5s, my first car was a Sundance without a single option, the thing had 94HP and I drove it like I stole it - even had a manual tranny.....ah, memories....) Turbo-IV was the VNT Turbo, pioneered by Shelby for the Dodge Omni GLH & GLHS. Lotsa balls, I forget the power rating (somewhere a little north of the Turbo-III?), less reliable than the T-III due to the impeller vanes getting clogged with carbon deposits and so-on.
Wow, I actually DO know something! And go figure, it's completely useless, cuz that motor's obsolete and hasn't been built since, oh, about 96 or so.....maybe 94 when then-Chrysler came out with the 2.0 for the Neon and all those other crap cars....LONG LIVE THE P-BODY!!!! (Sundance/Shadow)

Open up the ex a bit and pitch the filter systems. A K&N may help but it's the turn into the TB that is killing top end HP.
then put a forward facing scoop on it, Pontiac tells me that RAM AIR is what you need.streetpirate said:attacha cone filter directly to the top of the tb and cut a hole in the hood for it

procure* your neighbors mailbox and weld it to the hood. the little red flag on the side would be awesome!
Aluminum wheels are not necessarily any lighter. Check them out before you buy.drewkeen said:So a 10.2 at 69mph isn't bad for a stock jeep with 235/75 tires, also? It is a 4 door but not a 4x4. It is a Sport model and has all of the options (except the most important, 4x4). It also still had the stock steel wheels at the time.
I was cutting 2.3 60' times and only got a few passes so I didn't want to mess with lowering the air pressure. I am putting a 99+ intake on it and just today but some aluminum wheels on it. I am hoping for 9's at 70+ mph.

Yeah it just didnt make sense that motor trend was gettin 0-60 in 8.2 sec and 16.2 quarters. Then again, it was most likely 10k miles or so when they did that. Oh well, ive sold most of my stuff to help pay for college and i joined a motorsports club there so we'll see what i can do when im there. Im pretty sure they have some old turbos laying aroundbadron said:You have 93k on her. Your not going to get near a record with a motor the is way way over the hill by drag standers.
