Well the XJ is no longer the DD

Bought a car, sprechen sie deutsch? So now the XJ gets to rest between rides and maybe I'll have a chance to get some things done on it before the crawl.

Guess there's no more putting off XJ mods now, since I won't be in fear of making it inoperable.

Maybe some of the parts I've had laying around for the past few months will actually find there way in the thing now.

Did notice one big thing though. After driving a car for a few days, the XJ seems like a monster truck....which kind of makes it a little more cool.

You bought a Honda?

I was trying to be funny. FAIL.

It was funny or at least I thought so.

Benz.....

I probably put way too much thought in to it, but I'm not a fan of veedubs unless they are the air cooled variety. Also I'm not made of money, and hate car payments with a passion so I only buy old stuff.

So, all the people I know with old beemers gripe about them, and I've never really heard anything bad about old MB's so I guess I'll find out

Tell that doesn't mean you just see a red x?

2 red x's actually. I do have one image but this is too much fun to let you slide. :)

Yeah I guess I deserved that one

Thanks man! It's gas, I couldn't handle diesel, would probably just end up putting gas in it anyway.

Glad to hear about the shafts, that's one of the projects I want to get done. though it will probably be May.

my dream DD is a 1986 mercedes diesel station wagon. a buddy in high school bought one for $100, and we put 215,000 miles on it within 2 years. it never once broke down, and was comfortable and economic, and was just as fast as my riced out honda civic. it was an epic win on all levels, not to mention it was beautiful. light blue with a darkish tan leather interior, and a manual crank-style sunroof. i'd trade a testicle for another one just like it. not kidding.

Benz's are the way to go :)

That's what - a late 90's S-class?

MaxWife

It's a 95 C280, though an S Class would be nice.

I gotta say I'm impressed with this car for sure. I've been going through it checking it out and doing some neglected maintenance here and there, and have learned one big thing, we could really learn a lot from the Germans about building cars. This thing is solid, and well thought out, and incredibly easy to service. I have no doubt that it will be around for a while, and at this point seems well worth 3400 I have in it and then some.

'95 was a very good year. Treat it right and it'll go forever. My '95 E420 was still going strong when I sold it about 18 months ago and upgraded to an '05 E55. Several Atlanta NAXJA guys can attest it's a lot of fun LOL. Enjoy the car - and have fun with the Jeep upgrades!
