Thanks...

I got a little carried away though in tube. I think I prolly have 30-40lbs in tube that is more for insurance then need, but atleast thats not all that bad.

I am just lost on the stereo system now though lol.. I have 2 areas of 12"x10"x10" for complete speaker setup in the back seat area on either side of the 3rd rear center seat to work with. I am thinking just do a very quality set of 6x9's then get a set of TJ speaker pods and put em above the front seats with nice 6" components. And then the JVC HD radio unit with IPOD adapt. Well see though. I have changed poss setups liek 5 times each day over the past 3-4 days... lol

haha for sure. yeah some 6X9s and the speaker pods would be pretty cool. Im sure itd be enough for a good sound. Better more tube then not. Im gonna have to take a ride in that beast next time were at a run together.

Ok pretty much done with it form the windshield back. Just need to install the radio and the 6x9's and Maybe make a spare tire carrier (Ok I will but not till the rest is fully done front of windshield).

Drives the same it feels like so far. Still have a bad whobble that is induced at about 1/4 turn of steering and at like 35-45 only, sometimes getting so bad it has to be stopped. But it did that before adn I was hoping the occilation of the chassis was not helping and that this tube work would make it change and go away. But maybe still after I finish the front tube work it will.

No... If it gets hit or starts to show signs that its not going to survive or such, then I have a reason to remove it and fab some form of lexan windshield.

Thats a Full size "race seat" lol.. Well one of those cheapy poly ones that I have a decent paded cover for. Thats what you call riden biotch

LOL! ture that. Are you gonna put reverse lights so its street legal?

well I got rock lights all around. lol

I guess I could but thinking that if they are that picky then the side rear markers are not there either and then the lack of wheel covering fenders are more of an issue. I am curently just going to add small corner / side marker turn signals and try to figure out a way to maybe make some small removable fiberglass fender flares. Then call it enough for street legal.

Oh I do plan on driving it on occation on the street. Well see how well that goes over though.

haha yeah, i guess theres other othinngs that a cop would get you for instead. Hey what were the LED rocklights you got? im thinking of doing those since they draw like no amps.

I tried mine with no support, doesn't work.

Explain why? Wind you mean? and being how it looks curved, it seemed that it would hold up to forward use pretty well up to maybe 60-65? If not then I guess I have to fix or remove it?

PS.. Alan they are from pepboys and are kinda expensive. I did a tune up for a friend and told him to buy me a few, other wise I dont know if I would have boughten them. Look in to roundeyes I dont liek the guy/company but they have nice LED lights.

Looks good... what seats and mounts did you use?

Seats um Hunsacker or something like that. Its a generic type of spring and foam type seat It looked to be ok for how little use It will really get and at 250 pr on the special I found, well they only need to last a yr or two. I thought about quality ones, but with no top and completely open, why spend the $$ of a seat that will only get thrashed.

The mounts are home made. The drivers side was tricky with the tunnel there and even after pounding the crap out of it down to help flatten it, I still had to raise the drivers about .5-1" higher and plate the floor for that one corner mount. the rest of all the other mounts are tied/welded to a 1/4" plate that runs about 30" starting from back edge of rocker towards the firewall and about 16" wide, that is welded completly to the frame rails and rocker and tube spans side to side rocker ect..

The good part is the standard spacing for the seats. Its the generic diam. ( I think it was 16-3/8 sq?)

It might not bug you on yours with the cage so far away from it. On mine the
tube was close and it would hit when driving fast. Not on the street but over bumps. Just grap the top of the windshield and see how much it moves around.

Well this morning on my way out to work, I did grab it and shook/ man handled it and it didnt move all that much at all. At the base of the windshield pillar it had to be beaten in about 1/2" to clear the A-pillar tube, but it is still pretty much touching. So maybe that will become the problem. I have driven it about 5 miles now and not noticed anything. But that was at about 45 MPH max on side roads.

I'll see soon enough..
