Welding ball joints?

K so my passenger upper ball joint is loose in its hole. The play is easily noticable when you wiggle the tire.

Any tips or tricks to perhaps fix this? I installed MOOG joints like 4 months ago, so it shouldn't be a "made in china" type thing...

I think I'm going to put 3 small welds around it and pump the grease to her to keep her cool.

...unless someone has something better of course...

remove the ball joint, and inside the hole take a a center punch and start pinging it all the way around, top to bottom, this will expand the metal in the hole,thus making it smaller and hopefully tighter fit, theres actually a name for this process. cant think of it right now. id give that a shot first.

What about removing the ball joint stud from the hole, putting in some shim stock (thin sheet metal) and reinstalling?

Id try a new ball joint first,then Id just replace the axle.
