welders...

looks like you need to slow down... and probably turn up the wire speed.

and practice practice practice... my welds were/are messy when I rushed and didn't keep a steady hand.

thank you for the advice... I was kinda thinking the same thing. Still kinda playing around though... I will get this new welder figured out

any input on a miller regency 250 with an S-22A feeder? im getting one for a song this weekend.

No experience on the Regency 250, but the S22a wire feeds are great. I run a shop where we have 20+ of these units and have, at times, run them 24 hours a day, 5 days a week for years. Awesome units and remote mounting them makes them even more versatile.

As for the OP, the welds look ok, probably like every welders first try. My best advice is to have someone with experience show you the best way. But like it was said, slow down a bit too. What gas mixture are you running?

I thought the same, not to good to look at, but practice, practice will get your welds looking better.. I say you made a risky decision on an important tool, but Harbor Freight does offer Warrantys, hope you got it.,,, Go check out the Millermatic 211 with autoset feature,, you will leave drooling, and most places will let it go for $1000. I plan to do a few jobs and graduate to that.
